Our Old West Riding Town in Vanderbilt/Gaylord, Michigan is a wonderful glimpse into the past. This unique place houses all of our small farm animals that kids love to pet and feed. They really enjoy the hands on approach to goats, sheep, mini horses, ducks, chickens and rabbits.
Horseback Riding, Lessons, and Boarding
How about a great place for a farm school field trip? Creative, educational and fun; we can structure your event to fit your needs. Field trip activities include horseback rides, crafts, field games, story time and hay rides. You get to choose the activities best suited to your group and your budget.
Maple Ridge Stables is located adjacent to the Mackinaw State Forest just north of Gaylord Michigan and is proud to service Alanson, Boyne City, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Gaylord, Indian River, Wolverine and Vanderbilt. Just jump on the expressway to exit 290, or take the scenic route on Old 27 (Straits Hwy) between Wolverine and Vanderbilt. Our satisfied horseback riding customers come from all over Cheboygan, Otsego and Antrim County.

Oh yeah, and horseback riding lessons? We’ve got those, too. Horseback riding lessons are taught by experienced and educated equine professionals using CHA lesson strategies and standards.
Equine Assisted Therapy provided by Level II Certified Equine Professional.
Camps are supervised by experienced horse professionals and there is always someone present that is American Red Cross Certified in first aid and CPR.
